Alicia Witt has been acting since she was a child (she made her debut in David Lynch‘s Dune) and has been seen in numerous movies and TV shows (Cybill, The Mentalist, Urban Legend and 88 Minutes to name two from each form), but over the years she’s pursued her passion for music while continuing to take on acting roles.
The singer/songwriter’s latest release, Live at Rockwood, was released this past summer. The live album was recorded in her hometown of Los Angeles at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 and funded entirely by a successful Kickstarter campaign. Witt promoted the album on a nine city promo tour and rave reviews are still coming in.
Witt will be in Chicago this weekend to play a show in the Lounge at Elbo Room, Saturday, September 29th at 10:00 PM. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Elbo Room’s website.
“Performing my own music is very personal and means more to me than I can say,” says Witt. “It’s a thrill unlike anything else I know and I’m absolutely loving this journey with the new record.”
