The Smashing Pumpkins are set to release a new album on June 19th.  The 13 track Oceania, the Chicago band’s 7th studio album, will be released via Martha’s Music/EMI Label Services/Caroline Distribution and is a part of the ongoing 44-song work-in-progress, Teargarden by Kaleidyscope.  Produced by reigning Pumpkin Billy Corgan and Bjorn Thorsrud (who has worked with Corgan in the past on Pumpkins material and on Zwan’s one studio release), Oceania features Corgan (singer/guitarist), Jeff Schroeder (guitarist), Mike Byrne (drummer), and Nicole Fiorentino (bassist, vocalist).

“From a production standpoint I was dead set on making an album where every song was just as valuable as any other, ignoring the typical claptrap you hear about needing a single.” said Corgan on recording Oceania before signing on with a label for the release. “The only way to make the case that every song on Oceania is worth hearing is to put your heart into the sequence as a cohesive whole.”
