Hot on the heels of making the cover of the August issue of Spin, Wilco have announced a series of dates in October, culminating with two shows October 18th and 19th in Chicago at the UIC Pavilion. The 18th has already sold out, so get your tix for the 19th while they last. I heard that UIC accommodates 9,000 people? Holy Nudie Suits Batman! That’s a big score for our local favorites.
Also in the news is the fact that Warner Bros. Records/Reprise will be releasing the band’s first three albums (AM, Being There and Summerteeth) in August.
This is the same label that could not have given a damn about the band when these albums first came out. Interesting. Oh wait, that’s right. Wilco chart now and sell almost half of what that mega-load Daughtry does. That’s why they’re being re-released. Silly me.
Pardon my anger. Go out and buy the new issue of Spin today and check out the magazine’s website for some great video footage of Jeff, his son Spencer and another child we don’t think is Jeff’s other son Sam as he looks to be too old to be him – maybe it’s one of Spencer’s band mates in The Blisters?- jam out together in Spencer’s bedroom. (Editor’s Note: Turns out that IS in fact Jeff’s youngest son Sammy on bass – way cool!)
